i'm really exited because today i'm going to the Asian Art Museum in SF
for their first Thursday event called Matcha...
here's the details: www.asianart.org/matcha.htm
but what i'm really looking forward to is their Yoshitoshi exhibit...
Yoshitoshi is a very famous Japanese woodblock artist from the Edo/Meiji era.
and.... you've probably already know his kitsune... foxy artwork... like these:

i'm really hoping that have some of the originals there... woohoo!!!
plus that have a Manga based exhibit right now too...
so if you're in the bay area.. i hope you get to check it out...

Re: Yoshitoshi at the Asian Art Museum! (SF)
Sat, June 9, 2007 - 12:11 PMso.. they didn't have any of the foxy Yoshitoshi i wanted to see.. but his work and the exhibit still freakin rocked!! and there were tons of people at Matcha... i really suggest that you go! the woodblock prints are very light sensitive.. and after mid-july they are taking down the set of Yoshitoshi currently up, and putting up at new set. so i think i'm going to go back for the August Matcha. yay! j*
